New Distillery on the Horizon

We are in the process of building a distillery here at Herbal Lore.  We have made our first batch of vodka and have made five trial batches of gin.

We are going to have tastings with the public, to decide which two batches of gin to produce first, with the intention of launching the new label before the end of the year.

Stay tuned for the dates of the tasting events so that you can be part of history in the making!

Mindy, Body Spirit Show a Success!

body mind spirit

We had a terrific time at the Mind, Body Spirit Show in Melbourne.  It was so exciting to see so many repeat customers for our Herbal Lore Liquors.  We have established quite a reputation- one that we continue to live up to from year to year.

We were able to premier the Herbal Lore soy candle line.   It was encouraging to see that everyone could relate to the concept of pairing the appropriate candle with the matching liquor, for a full bodied experience of taste and smell.

The candles come in two sizes and are contained in heat sensitive glassware.

New Candle Ready for Market

After months and months of development work, our new soy candle line is ready for market!  We have developed eight candles, scented with essential oils that closely match the dominate herb in each of the eight liquors in the Herbal Lore line.

These soy candles, with cotton wicks, are a delight to the senses and are kind to the environment.  We are looking forward to their debut at the Mind, Body Spirit Show in Melbourne in June.

Herbal liqueurs hit the spot

Roger McLean was featured in Weekly Times Now on June 20, 2012.

IN MODERATE doses, it is said that wine can help prevent heart disease and some cancers.  But winemaker-turned-herbal alchemist Roger McLean has gone one better.  From his self-styled “apothecary” in Daylesford’s renovated Old Butter Factory, he creates a unique range of herbal liqueurs that are an Australian first. Lark Distillery, Tasmania visit Herbal Lore Liqueurs, Daylesford

Me again,

The Lark family from Tasmania….you know the ones that make that amazing world class whisky in Tasmania……well they came to the Old Butter Factory.

Roger and Sue showed them around and they even got to sample secret recipes from Roger.

Michael and Anna were there entertaining and Anna even got a few hugs from Laughlin…..yes that is Kristy and Joe’s baby.  He is really cute.

Pretty sure they went out to lunch at Kazuki’s…the great Japanese restaurant in Daylesford

Here is a picture of them all and one with Roger and Bill Lark in front of the old English Oak Barrels.

Well buy for now,

BF

VIP Guests visit the Butter Factory from Zibo City China

Hi there,

Guess who came to visit all the way from China?!

Roger was lucky enough to meet with Zuolin Li and Fehe Xue from Zibo City, China.

Zuolin Li and Fehe Zue experienced Roger’s unique liqueurs and a favourite being Harmony, the Gentle Uplifter.

I heard them say they were very interested in how the liqueurs where blended and impressed with the herbs in suspension display in the Apothacary.

Rod May from the Hepburn Shire Council thought Herbal Lore Liqueurs would be a wonderful place for them to visit during their short trip….of course he was right! hee hee

Hopefully we will see them again soon.

Bye for now,

BF

Zuolin Li (People’s Congress Standing Committee of Zhoucun District) and Fehe Xue (Poeple’s Government of Nan Jiao Town of Zhocun District) both from Zibo City, China.
